Black Eyed Peas concert - Wellington :: Thursday, November 18, 2004 - 01:10 PM (GMT)

New Zealand

As part of Joo's birthday present, I'd bought tickets for the Black Eyed Peas in Wellington. The only problem was that we were in Christchurch on the South Island.
So we flew from Christchurch into Wellington for the gig and would fly back to Christchurch the following day, for our flight to Sydney.

After checking in at Base Wellington, we grabbed some food and then headed over to the Events Centre.

The queue was pretty big and we had to stand outside in the freezing cold for an hour before they let us in.

The support act were a Maori hiphop duo, who seemed to go down well with everyone in there except me and Joo. We didn't have a clue who they were and still haven't managed to find out.

The place was packed and we'd managed to get about 5 rows from the front and a had a great view of the stage. This seemed to annoy a group of about 10 girls, who were stood behind us and were 'vertically challenged' to say the least.

When the Black Eyed Peas came on stage, all 10 of them pushed us both forward into everyone in front of us. We were not amused by this and told them so.

They then seemed to be barging everyone around us and a few of them started fights with other girls in front of us. We've both been to a few concerts but this was by far the most rowdy crowd we'd ever seen - Glasto wasn't this bad!

The Peas put on a great show, it was just a shame about the few spoiling it for the rest.

We did try and get some pictures from the concert, but the lights they were using seemed to make them all blurred.

Here's a few of the best ones....
